“Young & Young”, Chelsea: shorn-off circle

“Young & Young” burglar alarm, Kensington and Chelsea • Attempting to proceed logically through the uncommon shapes, yesterday’s deep drum leads on to a nice silver box that’s almost a circle, except for a bit shorn off the base. Whether there’s a proper geometrical name for such a construct, I have no idea – “arc” doesn’t sound right, so maybe it’s a massive “segment”. Whatever it’s called, Young & Young are the only example of it I’ve come across on a sounder so far. • Spotted: Cadogan Street, Kensington and Chelsea, London, SW3, England, 2010 • Politics: In the Conservative constituency of Chelsea and Fulham

  1. THE PHONE NUMBER IS WRONG, THE AREA CODE IS INCORRECTLY FORMATTED!!!!!

Aside from that, awful engineer unfriendly boxes the Multibox, good idea on paper, worst idea I ever had fitting those.

      • I remember when they launched these, they were so desperate that when I made a (foolish) tentative enquiry, it wasn’t leaflets or brochures that arrived, 3 days later the doorbell rang and there was a box of 30 covers with really badly printed graphics using some really lo res graphic from my website! Took them to be recycled when I moved, what a waste, and yes how awful they were!

        • I just came across another Multibox in an old photo, too small to use here, but the firm was called Spyball, and the sounder was in Birmingham.
