“Cirencester Intruder Alarms”, Cirencester: oddity

“Cirencester Intruder Alarms” burglar alarm, Cirencester • Another square oddity, which reminds me of a 1970s clock radio – I’m loving the big blue bulb. The name conjures up visions of American secret agents rampaging round deepest Gloucestershire (which they probably do). • Spotted: Town centre, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, GL7, England, 2007 • Politics: In the Conservative constituency of Cotswolds

  1. Aritech sounders delivered the highest audible output back in the day, this one and its bigger brother could both be heard miles away from the site.

  2. There are plenty of Cirencester Intruder Alarms installations using the white metal Westech / microDT boxes too (as I used to use) and I’d always assumed this was the ‘radical new look’ for the US style red CIA boxes. Of course these are actually Christie Intruder Alarms and totally unrelated – who needs £9000 a year University fees when you can have this site?!
