“Response Alarms”, Lambeth: convoluted tricorder

“Response Alarms” burglar alarm, Lambeth • Response alarms are always a convoluted shape, perhaps due to their solar panels. This old example looks like some piece of kit off Star Trek’s USS Enterprise – a tricorder, perhaps – and is the only one of its kind I’ve ever seen. • Spotted: Cornwall Road, Lambeth, London, SE1, England, 2011 • Politics: In the Labour constituency of Vauxhall

  1. I’ve fitted a Response alarm in my villa here in Menorca. It’s brilliant easy to fit have had no false alarms in nearly two years, yes it does work. Wireless alarms have certainly improved since they were first used in the early 80s.

  2. The old Response alarms looked better than the 2nd generation yellow types. You should find the modern Response alarms, which have a completely different design and manufactured to their own style unlike generic bases with a variety of logo stamps. We have one and I think all the modern ones are wireless as alike ours is and you can find some in Hornchurch, East London and there is one down The Avenue.
