“Dragon” burglar alarm, Bath • Some Taffs crossed river to Bristol, it seems, and deposited their red dragon there. Dating back to at least 829 AD, “Y Ddraig Goch” still features on the Welsh flag today, though by Tudor times the poor thing was also supporting the English crown’s coat of arms.
