London Electricity, Southwark: plug

London Electricity Security Systems

“London Electricity Security Systems” burglar alarm, Southwark • Now for a few electronic-themed sounders. You still see quite a few of these London Electricity alarms around, usually pretty faded. Though it remains a familiar logo (a plug made of L and E, geddit?), it’s an old one – the firm actually became LEB in 1990. • Spotted: Tyers Gate, Southwark, London, SE1, England, 2011 • Politics: In the Liberal Democrat constituency of Bermondsey and Old Southwark

  1. Even though they may have become LEB in 1990 this box is obviously a lot newer due to it being post Phoneday. It’s still quite a few Years old though.

  2. Pretty sure that Modern/ADT purchased the contracts of London Electricity many moons ago. Would be glad to receive confirmation. The bell boxes a Nintek Engineering Delta shaper. I doubt it still works. None of ours of that age still do.

      • I don’t think I would expect them to be listed on Tyco’s subsideries after all, the alarms part or the LEB was a tiny part if the organisation and I think they only would have purchased the alarm contracts and not the company. They weren’t that big. I don’t think that the alarms were a seaparafe limited company.
