Thinking about it the gong was probably painted black for concealment because the gong is very close to the vents of the bell box so any burglar who manages to get a good look at a banham eurobell probably wont see the gong very well meaning they might not stick a screw driver in there or something.

  2. Very early banham alarm.
    For some reason every banhan eurobell ive seen always had a black gong instead of the typical chrome shine.
