Burglar Alarm, Oxford, 2012

“Burglar Alarm” burglar alarm, Oxford • From the sublime to the ridiculous. After all those complicated multi-branded affairs, here’s a burglar alarm just called … Burglar Alarm!  Sharp eyes will notice I’ve introduced a new category called “Vintage-ish” – that’s for things I reckon are post-1980, but still rather quaint looking, or bearing an 01-era phone code. Although to be fair, this – tucked away in a grotty old pigeon-spiked corner – could be even older. • Spotted: Queen Street, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, 2012 • Politics: In the Labour constituency of Oxford East

  1. Have you come across an example of the “Rolls Royce” of bells yet? It was a Chubb stainless steel bell from about or just before that period.
