  1. Hi. Larkins have always been a bit of mystery to me. Many many moons ago they were a large company (I think they ceased trading in 1994/1995) that were based in Bournemouth. I even seem to think that they had thee own monitoring station. I have heard a few stories, one that The Security Partnership (SP) took them over and the other, that a company called Abacus took them over. Whatever happened, The Security Partnership are no longer around and Im not sure what ‘Abacus’ was supposed to have taken them over. The bell box in he picture must be very very old. If you look carefully, the actual cover is screwed straight on the wall. It may be a dummy. The ‘Larkns Security Systems’ is a sticker. Back in the day only the nationals had there boxes silk screen printed.

    • It’s on some random arch unit in what used to be an industrial wasteland in the middle of nowhere (and is now near trendy Tate Modern), so maybe it was just a deterrent dummy. The arches have all been spruced up, surprised it’s still there.
