SGD, Bristol, 2011

“SGD” burglar alarm, Bristol • Not so much a monogram as three initials jammed together, but it’s nice. No clue what it stands for, though. • Spotted: Surrey Street, Bristol, […]

Multi-Alarm, 2011

“Multi-Alarm Bristol” burglar alarm, Bath • The alarm isn’t rusty, but the label looks like it is. • Spotted: Bartlett Street, Bath, Avon, BA1, England, 2011 • Politics: In the Liberal […]

DSA, Bath, 2011

“DSA Bath” burglar alarm, Bath • Burglar running through curtain, pretty similar to the one here. • Spotted: York Buildings, Bath, Avon, BA1, England, 2011 • Politics: In the Liberal Democrat […]

EAS, Bath, 2011

“EAS Bath” burglar alarm, Bath • Nice old bell box quietly rusting on a Bath building. • Spotted: Crescent Lane, Bath, Avon, BA1, England, 2011 • Politics: In the Liberal […]

E.C.I., Venice: cute

“E.C.I.” burglar alarm, Venice • Cute plastic pairing on the tiny church-bound isle of San Giorgio. I’m guessing the green one signals intruders, and the red one fires. • Spotted: Cini […]

Alarm Service Group, Bristol: blurred

Alarm Service Group "Alarm Service Group" burglar alarm, Bristol • Another version of yesterday's brand, this time on a variation of the Eurobell which has a clear plastic lid. This would look OK except the logo is repeated underneath the lid, meaning it looks so blurred you can't read it properly. • Spotted: Gloucester Street, Bristol, Avon, BS2, England, 2011 • Politics: In the Liberal Democrat constituency of Bristol West

Alarm Service Group, Bristol: sad

Alarm Service Group "Alarm Service Group" burglar alarm, Bristol • Much as I like Eurobells, Alarm Service Group's nice logo looks rather sad on this one; nowhere near as impressive as when on their unusual square sounder, a custom classic featured here• Spotted: Quay Street, Bristol, Avon, BS1, England, 2011 • Politics: In the Liberal Democrat constituency of Bristol West
Alarm Service Group, Bristol: sad

Banham, Lambeth: minimal

Banham "Banham" burglar alarm, Lambeth • An even more minimal Banham Eurobell than yesterday's. You could even suspect someone letraseted the logo on to make their security arrangements look posh. • Spotted: Roupell Street, Lambeth, London, SE1, England, 2011 • Politics: In the Labour constituency of Vauxhall
Banham, Lambeth: minimal

Alert Security, Islington: mini-monogram

Alert Security "Alert Security" burglar alarm, Islington • There's a mini-monogram on this faded oldster if you look closely – an A in a shield up at the top. To my mind (ie the sad mind of a graphic designer), it makes a rather attractive composition with its background of semi-painted wall (see below). • Spotted: Camden Passage, Islington, London, N1, England, 2011 • Politics: In the Labour constituency of Islington South and Finsbury Alert Security

Chubb, York: branding

NoName (Chubb) "Chubb" burglar alarm, York • And finally, to reinforce yesterday's point, another example of the classic blue triangle. This one's gone completely rusty, apart from its wee strobey hat  – but you can still tell it was a Chubb. How's that for branding? • Spotted: Stonegate, York, Yorkshire, YO1, England, 2011 • Politics: In the Labour constituency of York Central
